Federal Lawsuit Filed Against Samsung Alleging Workplace Discrimination and Retaliation
A federal lawsuit recently filed in the Southern District of New York accuses Samsung Electronics America of egregious workplace misconduct, including disability and race discrimination, sexual harassment, and unlawful retaliation by a senior executive.
According to the complaint, a high-ranking employee was subjected to repeated and humiliating remarks about his body for years and was treated differently than his peers because of his race, despite consistently delivering top-tier performance and generating billions in revenue. After raising concerns internally, the employee was allegedly excluded from meetings, denied advancement opportunities, and ultimately terminated as part of a stated restructuring.
The lawsuit alleges that these actions were not only discriminatory but also retaliatory, taken after the employee reported the conduct to company leadership and human resources.
The plaintiff is represented by Emily G. Bass, Partner, and Brandon White, Associate, of Vladeck, Raskin & Clark, P.C.
